Counselling

Counselling is a relationship between two people in which the client's issues are explored more deeply than coaching. These issues tend to be things from the past that are stopping the client from taking responsibility and making positive choices that lead them to be more effective at work.

Symptoms of deeper issues may be:
- alcohol or drug overuse or dependency
- frequent angry outbursts
- feeling overwhelmed by emotions, anxiety or stress
- depressed and de-motivated
- long or frequent periods off sick
- difficulty relating to colleagues
- negative self-defeating thinking
- repeatedly making mistakes, poor concentration, defensiveness

A level of stability and progress can be achieved in eight to ten sessions using brief intervention and solution focused therapy. If longer term therapy is requested then options will be suggested and explored.
