Individual Counselling

Counselling is a relationship between two people in which the client explores who they are, the challenges they face and the meanings for them in their life. It tends to explore issues from the past that are stopping the client from living more fully in the present and looking forward to the future.

Are you feeling:
- out of control of your work or personal life?
- anxious or panicky, numb or shut down?
- intense and overwhelming feelings of anger, despair, worthlessness or that life is pointless?
- a longing or yearning for something?
Are you using work, food, drugs, alcohol, sex, relationships, the internet to help you cope?
Are you repeating the same behaviour over and over again, hoping this time it will be different?

We all do these activities to a certain extent but if you are suffering because of it and your life is becoming unmanageable and chaotic then working with someone can help.

I work with you to:

- explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, patterns of relating

- consider the impact and consequences of choices you make
- identify your underlying needs, what it is you really want
- manage your feelings more effectively and less destructively
- discover a way of living that feels more right for you
 

By creating a strong supportive, trusting, relationship we enable you to face unresolved issues in your past that are affecting you in the present so you can create a more positive future.
