Supervision

Supervision provides an opportunity for a worker to reflect on their client work with an external, objective professional to gain insight and development in their ways of working.

It focuses on:
- client issues and concerns
- new strategies and tools for intervention
- places a worker is stuck or colluding with the client
- relationship between the worker and the client
- impact of the client's issues on the worker

It benefits the organisation by:

- ensuring best practice and meeting ethical guidelines

- preventing burn out or compassion fatigue
- increasing competence and confidence
- providing an external, objective perspective
- protecting the clients, the workers and the organisation
